Honker Nation started as “Honker Headquarters” in 1993 with 3 leases and 10 hunters as a goose hunting club.  We all had a mixed bag of old, worn out decoys known as “junkyard spread”, and we hauled them around in the back of a pickup under a cargo net.  We blew flute calls, if we called at all, shot 10-gauge shotguns, had a 3-bird limit, and hunted out of hand dug pits with no covers, yet still had success in the field because it worked.

Any seasoned hunter knows that as the birds got smarter, we had to get smarter too.  Honker Nation has evolved to be successful in the field and blind.  We now have over 25 groups of 6, having access to over 40 hunting locations of the best waterfowl leases in Northern Colorado and have expanded to doves, ducks, geese, turkey and an occasional deer.  

We haul our high dollar, life like decoys in enclosed trailers.  We blow $200 short-reed calls, shoot 3-½ inch 12 gauge shotguns, hunt out of six-man, heated pits with custom built covers, have a 5-bird limit and are still successful in the pit and blind because it takes all of that to work.

Honker Nation has been providing premiere hunting locations throughout northern Colorado for 30 years.

Honker Nation sells group memberships versus individual memberships, and as a group you have access to reserve leased properties, including ponds, reservoirs, fields (which include pits or layout blind options) and blinds.  These properties are available to hunt Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday, and national holidays. Please visit the property map for more information regarding locations.

Leased properties are available by reservation every Monday and Friday morning. Each group will have a designated Pit Boss, a contact person for the group, who will make the weekly hunting reservations and cancellations.
